Here is a straightforward set of steps for burning a CD. Keep in mind that quot;Copy", "Record" and "Burn" all mean the same thing.

Do I have a Burner?
To confirm that you actually have a Burner, follow the steps under the "Fix a Balky Burner" section of the Windows XP CD Burning Secrets article. If you determine that you do not have a Burner and would like to purchase one, refer to the "Purchasing a Burner" section.
